Hello
Guys,
July 31, 2004 The Rapture article just came out in the September issue of Flying Models. As I feared, the article was too long and the editors cut and modified it a great deal. The only member picture they used was one of Dennis. It's in the table of contents page (you can see it at www.flying-models.com). Lou, Dennis, Jack, & Tom got mentioned in the flight section. They really reworked the way I wrote it. I guess they didn't like my self-depricating style. Maybe they thought it reflected poorly on them if I wasn't a real sharp pilot. Oh well... I am sorry to have to say good-bye to you all. The time I got to spend with you was way too short. For several years my job kept me on the road all the time, and now we have to move. My retirement came a few years before we expected. I lost my military flight medical last year so I had no choice but to retire. We love CT but the cost of living is so much lower in the south. We sold our house and are moving to Jonesborough, TN next week. Here are some pictures of the Ryan that Bob helped me with today. You all have been so great. I wish I had the time to get to know you better. I'm going to miss the Probusters very much. Thank you for your friendship, advice, and help. Good luck and best wishes to you all. Best regards, John |
