RICE, Mark A. Mark A. Rice, 55, of Kelsey Hill Rd., Deep
River, died Monday, (November 8, 2004) at home. He was the husband
of Linda (Anderson) Rice. He was born in New Haven, on March 6,
1949. son of Vera (Hitchcock) Rice of Chester, and the late Frank
Rice. He was a graduate of Valley Regional HS, class of 1967. He
owned and operated Chapco Inc. of Chester for over 20 years and
retired in February of this year. He was a member of the R.C.
Propbuster club, Past Chairman of the Board of Finance in Deep
River, Past Commissioner of baseball in Deep River, and had
coached soccer for many years. He was a past member of the Chester
Rotary and he was a veteran of the US Navy. Besides his wife and
mother he is survived by his son Evan Allan Rice of Essex; his
daughter and son-in-law Stacia and Beldon Libby Jr. of Centerbrook;
his brothers Glenn Rice of Old Saybrook and Roy Rice of Monmouth,
ME. He was an extremely proud grandfather of Hannah Ryce Libby and
Maizy Stocking Libby. Funeral services will be held on Friday at
10 a.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, located at Centerbrook
Congregational Church, Main St. Centerbrook (Parking will be at
the funeral home). Burial with military honors by the Antique
Veterans will follow in Centerbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at
the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St.,
Centerbrook, on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. Contributions in his memory
may be made to the Building Fund, Trinity Lutheran Church, Box

MARK RICE
Departed to fly at a better place on Nov 8, 2004
Mark was a Club Member for the past 4 years and was been
actively supporting the club events and needs. He was been a
great support for our Neighborhood Fun Fly by running it in 2003
and assisting in 2004. Mark was a fine Husband, Father,
Friend, Gentleman and all around terrific guy. He will be
missed.
