- Club members and guests shall not fly turbine powered model aircraft if the Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) for any area within a one mile radius of the flying field is 500 or over.

- It is the turbine fliers responsibility to follow all points of AMA document #510-A “AMA GAS TURBINE PROGRAM” including fire extinguisher and water based fire fighting equipment rules.
- The Club will not police these rules on a daily basis. However, if a turbine flier is found to blatantly disregard these rules, the turbine flier shall be subject to a 30 day suspension of all flying privileges.
- The daily (KBDI) shall be checked by the turbine flier using the following process:
- Visit the club website and view the status icon in the upper-right labeled KBDI
- Indicators are as follows:
- conditions are acceptable for turbine operation. The maximum KBDI is below 500 for the entire district
- conditions are not acceptable for turbine operation. The minimum KBDI is above 500 for the entire district
- conditions vary throughout the district and the KBDI map (below) must be viewed for closer determination. If any area within a one mile radius of the field has a KBDI value equal to or above 500, it is not acceptable for turbine operation
