Minutes of the June 18th, 2003
Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 8:05 PM
with 18 members in attendance. The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as
read.
Treasurer's Report
Old Business:
Club Banquet- Fred
is looking for feedback about having a date in January or February.
R/C Propbusters- Dick
Wilkins is making progress on type of club, stay tuned. No update.
Possible New Flying site-
The Groton landfill is under the flight path of runway 23 and access is
limited. The Well Road site is a year away from being useful.
Nenats-
Darrin Bellis said attendance was down from last year. Those that showed up
had a great time. A lot of club money was spent but the weather caused many no
shows. There is no plan to have this event again. They are having it in
Pennsylvania.
New Business:

Schedule of Events- As follows:
Bob Berringer Memorial Scale Fly In-
Sat & Sun.-June 28 & 29, CD Dick Wilkins. Everything looks to be all
set. Unfortunately there is a conflict with both the Quonset Air show and a
IMAA meet at Rocky Hill.
Henry Struck Memorial Electric Fly In-
Sat. July 26, CD Jorge Cintron. No update.
Neighborhood Fun Fly-Sat.
Aug 16. Need chairperson to run event. Please volunteer
as you are needed to drop off flyers at neighborhood homes, and perhaps notify
local Cub Scouts or Boy or Girl Scouts. Joe Comeroski will try to contact
Scouts.
IMAA #392Giant Scale Fly-In Event @
Salem- Sat & Sun- Aug
30 & 31, no update.
Club Fun Fly- Sat
Sept 13 / Rain Date Sun Sept 14. No update.
Helicopter Fun Fly- Sat
& Sun- Sept 27 & 28. Charlie Lewis has passed his CD test and is
awaiting his card, sanction will be sent out.
Flying Site-Fred
and Dick Wilkins looked at Stones Ranch as a possible flying site. The place is
perfect but the camp Captain gave a lukewarm response. Fred has penned a letter
to officially ask him for permission. Stay tuned.
Camp Odetah- June
21St -1:00-2:00-Dick Wilkins is still
looking for a few pilots & float planes for this event Call him @ 434-1211
if you are interested.
Town of Preston- Has
contacted our club to do a demo for them, a Wednesday evening in July. Fred
& Jack said that small to moderate sized planes and any helicopters or u
control are welcome.
Food For Beringer Phil
will be contacted.
New members- Steve
Cibulas is new, Rob Larsen, Albert Loscano, and John Banks IV are returning
members. Welcome gentlemen.
