Minutes of the May, 19th, 2004 Meeting
The May 19th, 2004 meeting of the RC Propbusters was called to order at 8:06 p.m. with 16 members present. The April meeting’s minutes were accepted are read. Lou Carpio complimented the people taking care of the field this year. There was no treasurer’s report this month but Ron reported that he will have one next month to update the club with. Old Business: Sign: Materials to make our new sign at the field were discussed. Ron brought up the idea of using aluminum for our sign and having it water jetted. Fred and Jack will also check into traditional wooden sign making companies and report back on cost. Flying Sites: Wells Road: Fred Meyer reported that the site is ¾ covered with mulch, Fred will further look into that site. Fred will continue petitioning town and state for possible flying areas for our club. Ron Czikowsky reported that Stone’s Ranch is still a possibility and will keep us updated. Fertilizer: Ron Czikowsky reported that Green Scene would be laying down fertilizer again this year on the field. Growth formulas would be a little different but with similar effects. West End Regulations: Please use common sense when flying towards the west end of the field. At this time, no official club regulations have been set, but please be considerate as our new neighbors can determine the fate of our field. Soccer Club: No updates Float flying: The RC Propbusters have a new location for flying float planes! Two days a week only, Tuesday and Wednesday, morning (9am) until the afternoon (4pm). Douglas Lane pond. Dick Morgan owns the property and granted us permission to use it under these conditions. Please see Jack Holmgren or call him prior to using this site to get important details. Portable Toilette: Jack made arrangements to have our toilette serviced regularly at the field. New Business:
None Sanctions: Dick Reported that the sanctions were in for our club events. Sanctions will be mailed to the correct individuals. Field Maintenance: Thanks to Charlie Bacon for removing some of the old spools and such from the Salem field. Events: Fred Meyer has been sending out promotions for our flying events this year around New England. New Members: Robert Thompson from Norwich! Robert is interested in helicopters, has been working with Charlie Lewis beginning his new step into heli’s. Motion was made and Robert was voted in. Welcome Robert!!!
